Beam saw support

CNC file export for 13+ beam saw models across 8 vendors — core formats validated end-to-end against real saw hardware.

From calculation to CNC file

SmartCut's post-processor pipeline converts an optimised cutting layout directly into the CNC format your saw expects — no manual transcription, no intermediate software.

Every format is validated against the saw's own control software and, where possible, against real saw hardware — checked for geometric accuracy across a library of real production jobs before it ships to your machine.

PTX files verified end-to-end on a 2,083-job production corpus
Biesse XML accepted by 15 verified Selco WN6/WN7 saw configurations
Each format passes geometry tests before shipping to any production saw
Format support tracks saw constraints (bed size, head cuts, stack height, piece limits)

Saw support FAQ

Which beam saws does SmartCut support?

SmartCut exports CNC files for 13+ beam saw models across eight vendors — Homag (PTX, CADmatic and CPOUT), Biesse Optiplanner and Selco, Mayer, SCM, Schelling Commander, Giben, Striebig and Jingwei.

What file format does my saw need?

It depends on the machine — Homag uses PTX, Biesse and SCM use Biesse XML, Mayer uses .may and Schelling uses .nc. SmartCut emits the right format automatically from the optimised layout; the table above lists the format for each model.

Can I request support for a saw that is not listed?

Yes. New formats are added through a structured validation process. Get in touch — we may already have a prototype, or we can scope a format development project.

Are the CNC files validated?

Yes. Each format is validated against the saw's own control software, with geometry and accuracy checks across a library of real production jobs before it ships to a machine.
